Have you ever experienced being at the pinnacle of your life? Have you ever felt like every area of your life was going well? Your relationships, friendships, finances, health, and career was on point. I mean everything in your life was sharper than a needle point! Girlfriend, you had it going on with your bad self! Have you ever experienced life going so well that you had to actually pinch yourself to see if you were dreaming? Has life been so good to you that you felt like you were living on “cloud 9”? Then without warning, all of a sudden, one day “it” happened? A situation came at you so hard that it caused you to plummet to the ground FAST…with no parachute to save you! As women who have many responsibilities and who wears many hats, we have all experienced tests and trials that knocked us off of life’s pinnacle.
Just recently, I watched a fictitious television show that premiered in 1976. It was the Bionic Woman. It was about Jaime Sommers, a professional female tennis player. She, like many of us, was at the pinnacle of her life. One day she decided to go skydiving with her fiancé. Flying high above the ground, Jaime made the brave decision to jump from the plane. Unbeknownst to her, while in the air, the parachute that she relied on to bring her safely to the ground malfunctioned. Jaime endured a devastating fall. She sustained traumatic injuries to her legs, head, and right arm. She lost her tennis career, her memory, and the love of her life all because her parachute malfunctioned.
My sisters, like Jaime, we have all experienced devastating falls and malfunctioned parachutes in our lives. Maybe for you, the malfunctioned parachute was a relationship going sour. Or maybe it was a malfunctioned parachute of betrayal from one of your closest friends? Or maybe it was a malfunctioned parachute you experienced on your job. Or maybe it was a malfunctioned parachute in your finances. Or maybe it was a malfunctioned parachute in your health. Like Jaime, we were riding high and jumped believing that our parachute was going to bring us to safety. Painstakingly, our malfunctioned parachutes caused us to plummet down at a great rate of speed to only hit the ground….HARD! Some of us ended up with physical injuries. Some of us ended up with emotional injuries. Some of us ended up with financial injuries. Some of us ended up with verbal injuries. Some of us even ended up with spiritual injuries. No matter what the injuries were, my sisters, let’s keep it real. We were ALL broken into pieces at some point in our lives.
The only way Jaime’s life could have been saved was for her body to be reconstructed by a government agency known as the Office of Scientific Intelligence. They agreed to invest millions of dollars to reconstruct Jaime’s legs and right arm. However, after the surgery, Jaime was not your “ordinary” woman. “Her new bionic arm and legs [gave] her extraordinary strength and the ability to run more than 60 miles per hour, and her new bionic ear [gave] her superhuman hearing” (NBC par. 2).
When I saw that part of the show, God reminded me when we were broken due to our devastating falls, He used His divine intelligence and time to reconstruct us. He did not need to invest millions of dollars. Why? Simply because GOD INVESTED HIMSELF INTO US!
He gave us legs much more powerful than the Bionic Woman. Psalm 18:33 declares “He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places”. You see, the Bionic Woman had the super ability to jump two stories high. As God’s daughters, we do not have to jump into position. After our heavenly Father reconstructed us for His purpose, He had already set us in position in our high places!
But not only that, God used His right arm so we could have the victory over every fall. Psalm 118:16 (New Living Translation) declares “The strong right arm of the LORD is raised in triumph. The strong right arm of the LORD has done glorious things!” Ladies, when God reconstructed you, He made a glorious thing! When He gave us the victory over life’s circumstances, He raised His right arm in victory! In other words, God was saying, “This is My daughter (put your name here). She is My special treasure. I invested not only My time, but I invested Myself into her. She is so special to Me that she does not have to fight any battles. I have fought ALL of her battles for her and she is more than a conqueror!”
Although the fictious Bionic Woman had the ability to hear conversations of both her friends and foes from long distances, her bionic hearing was still limited. Why? It was because the Bionic Woman could only hear in the Earth realm. My sisters, we are more powerful than the Bionic Woman because we have the supernatural ability to hear straight from heaven! Oh, glory hallelujah! Unlike the Bionic Woman, our hearing device…the Holy Spirit…is never faulty or in need of repair. God invested His SUPERNATURAL POWER in us so we can be on His divine frequency to hear His instructions!
While writing this blog, I was reminded of Donald Lawrence’s song “Spiritual”. The song goes:
You're not a natural being,
Having a spiritual experience,
But you're a spiritual being,
Living this natural experience
My sisters, as God’s daughters, I encourage you all when I say that despite our falls, GOD HAS MADE YOU THE REAL BIONIC WOMAN!! Be blessed!!

Amen...I am the REAL BIONIC WOMAN!
“Despite my falls, God made me the real bionic woman.” I love that confirmation. Thank you Father!
